Beth Hart is a Los Angeles native and blues-singing rock star. She was a street entertainer and made her debut with Immortal in the year 1995. Her unfiltered, outspoken persona, musicianship, and emotional live shows attracted attention. Chuck Taylor, Billboard's October 2, 1999 issue, declared that Hart is "the the epitomize of a natural woman," and described her as "bawdy and funny, chatty with her use of spiced languages, free-wheeling , and free-wheeling." But, nothing compares to her presence on stage. The tall, muscular singer/songwriter strolls and sings a jig in a band with Mick Jagger . At other times, she'll take a place on the piano or in the center stage with her legs stretched over the chairs and her voice is delicate and painfulthat it's hard to tell whether she's about to cry or if you'll. Hart had similar reactions to the moment she took to the stage for amateur contests in her teen years. But, Hart was skeptical about the business of music before it was finally successful. Eventually, touring the world over was not good for her band and Hart disappeared from the scene for over four years, a time introspection and tackling issues through music. Hart was ready to give her professional career another chance, and came back in 1999, releasing Screamin' for My Supper. The album that showed Hart's songwriting talent, featuring candid, vulnerable tracks about facing life's problems.
