Dua Lipa is an English performer and songwriter from England who was born on August 22 1995 in London United Kingdom. After being a model for a fashion magazine her decision was to join Warner Bros Records and release her debut album. It peaked at number three on the U.K. Albums Chart and made eight singles which included Be the One I.D.G.A.F and The U.K. number-one single New Rules that peaked at the top of the charts, number sixth in the United States. Lipa has been awarded the Brit Awards for British female solo artist as well as British breakthrough act in 2018. Her album has been certified platinum in the world. Dua Lipa was born on August 22, 1995 in London as the daughter of Kosovo Albanian Anesa Rexha, and Dukagjin Lipa. The maternal grandparents of her are Bosnian. It is also possible to trace her ancestral ancestors back from Peja in Kosovo. Her grandparents were historians as well. She is a sister to Rina Lipa and a younger brother named Gjin. Lipa was greatly influenced in her musical tastes by her father the guitarist and lead singer of Oda, the Kosovan rock group Oda. In the family, her father would continue playing music which included his music and compositions, as well as songs of David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa began singing at the age of five. In the year she turned nine years old, she began singing at the Sylvia Young Theater School.
